Current sports fans may not realize that a second Major League club. The Browns, once called St. From 1902 through 1953, the Browns played second fiddle to the National League's uber-successful St. Louis Cardinals at Sportsman's Park. The Browns were perennial losers, save for a 1944 American League pennant.

When many of the game' stars were serving in the military during World War II. The Browns were lovable losers, the first and only team to play a Little Person (3' 7 Eddie Gaedel), with stunts and promotions. Galore under owner Bill Veeck. Alas, the Browns folded up shop and moved to become the Baltimore Orioles before the start of the 1954 season.
